&Tradition Mist Pendant Lamp

Rays of the first morning light shining through the mist inspired this warm, diffused pendant and table lamp by All the Way to Paris.

The duo behind Copenhagen-based design studio All the Way to Paris often find that their experience in graphic design emerges in their product design. This intuitive approach becomes apparent in their latest collaboration with &Tradition — Mist.

Featuring a pendant in two sizes as well as a table lamp, Mist is inspired by the warm, diffused light of morning rays shining through the haze, offering a modern take on the classic globe light silhouette.

“We are fascinated by the way light comes through at different times of the day, and with different weather. With Mist, we want to speak to the kind of light that comes through when the air is heavy, a kind of sparkling, diffused light. The series will add depth to a room instead of being too harsh,” explain Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, founders of All the Way to Paris.

Crafted from mouth-blown opal glass with white coated aluminium details and
a textile cord, the Mist pendant lamp is available in two sizes and can be hung in solitude or in multiples to create a larger lighting arrangement. The simplicity of the pendant’s exterior allows the light itself to be the focus of the piece, creating a sense of ambiance and visual harmony.

The Mist table lamp, also made from mouth-blown opal glass, features a thick marble pillar with a small dimmer switch. The contrast between the light shape of the glass and the solidity of the marble creates an elegant design rich in materiality.

Both versions of Mist have corresponding silhouettes but are positioned inversely, allowing for a charming, coordinated look in the same space.

“In a way, this is our take on the classic globe light,” explain Vibe and Olsson Gendt. “But with a twist on the simplicity of that silhouette, in that the shape is compressed and slightly asymmetrical. The shape keeps it interesting and poetic while still giving the kind of warm, glowing light that comes from a typical globe.”

The Mist lighting series adds a touch of understated luxury to an interior design project, offering a perfect combination of form, function, elegance and warmth.
